Tame and Wicked Problems

Social entrepreneurs must identify whether they are trying to solve a Tame or Wicked problem before they attempt to develop a solution, See Module 11 in Practitioner Guide.


Distinguishing between Tame and Wicked Problems is an essential task for every social entrepreneur.


Tame problems can be solved with linear techniques. Wicked problems are much more difficult to solve due to their complexity, as illustrated by the following schematic,
